Position Purpose
The Vice President of Organizational Development plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and fostering a high-performance culture within the organization. This role is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of organizational development, including talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, change management, and learning and development. This position evaluates the effectiveness of existing OD programs/systems/procedures and identify/implement changes that will enhance business performance and ensure our company remains competitive and adaptable in an increasingly competitive environment.
Responsibilities & Tasks
    Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive organizational development strategy aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategic objectives. 
    Identifies organizational gaps related to a high growth business model and implements programs, initiatives, and interventions to address them effectively. 
    Researches external best practices to ensure the company considers optimal alternatives related to organizational design. 
    Develops change management strategies, communication plans, and training materials to support successful implementation of organizational initiatives. 
    Provides guidance and support to leaders and employees to help them navigate and adapt to organizational change effectively. 
    Ensures all organizational initiatives, workforce changes, and learning programs are implemented in a manner that meets minimum regulatory and operational standards while minimizing disruption to patient care delivery and clinical workflows. 
    Supports Clinical Excellence by driving initiatives that enhance staff capability, teamwork, and adherence to clinical best practices.
    Manage the assessment of senior level job candidates using formal psychological testing tools (e.g., Hogan, Predictive Index) and external executive assessment partners (e.g., Korn Ferry, Russell Reynolds) to drive reliable, evidence based hiring decisions.
    Develops, implements, and evaluates strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent across the organization. 
    Oversees performance management systems to ensure alignment with business objectives and support employee growth and development. 
    Creates and implements succession planning processes to identify and develop future leaders. 
    Designs and delivers leadership development programs (e.g., Developing Future CEO, Leadership Orientation, Developing Future Leader programs) to enhance the capabilities of current and emerging leaders. 
    Provides executive coaching and support to senior leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness and address complex organizational challenges. 
    Provides professional development to leaders and high potential employees, including those in Nursing and Therapy Leadership.
    Provides professional development and ongoing support for the company-wide Preceptor Program. 
    Supports development of career ladders for clinical and non clinical roles to improve retention and career mobility.
    Designs and executes employee engagement surveys, analyzes results, and develops action plans to address areas of improvement. 
    Develops and implements strategies to enhance employee engagement, job satisfaction, and retention. 
    Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create and sustain a positive, inclusive organizational culture that reflects company values and promotes employee well-being. 
    Identifies appropriate metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR and organizational development initiatives and their impact on organizational outcomes. 
    Drives delivery of HR analytics, reporting, and dashboards to support HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and Operational Leaders. 
    This is an in-office position based in our Birmingham, Alabama Home Office. 
License or Certification
    SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. 
    Master's degree preferred.
    10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
    At least 5 years proven work experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
