Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Global Head of R&D for AWM. This role is pivotal in driving the development and delivery of high-quality products in collaboration with the Global Head of Product Management, and Global Head of Services. The successful candidate will oversee the Core and Innovation development leaders, as well as the Quality Lead, ensuring alignment and excellence in our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the R&D Product Group, including the Core and Innovation development leaders, and the Quality Lead.
  • Partner closely with the Global Head of Product Management, and Global Head of Services to deliver quality products and enable the ability to deliver consistent and commercially viable products.
  • Lead a robust global R&D team of approximately 150 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement R&D strategies that align with the company's 2030 plan.
  • Serve as the technology point of contact for customer escalations and opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • Drive the development of new products and enhancements to existing products in Utilities, Rail, Mining or related industries.
  • Manage the R&D budget and resources effectively to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven 10+ years' experience in product development leadership within Power Systems/Control Systems or related industries. Degree in Computer Science/Administration is required. MBA or other related advanced degree, in addition to extensive business experience is strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience in large-scale, mission-critical, real-time Enterprise software systems. This expertise is crucial for driving the development and delivery of our high-quality products.
  • Strong background in R&D with a focus on leadership and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet with customers and serve as the technology POC for customer escalations and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of engineers and technical experts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience working in a global organization with a matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in the Utilities and Energy sectors.
