We are seeking a Medical Informatics Specialist to join our International Health Unit in North Wilkesboro, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Medical Informatics Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Provide leadership for the planning, implementation, administration, governance, and continuous improvement of medical information systems, including Digital Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) and related technologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, analytics, reports, and decision-support tools that provide organizational leadership with timely operational awareness, program performance metrics, medical intelligence, donor reporting, and strategic insights.
- Establish and maintain standards for data governance, data quality, information security, reporting, documentation, and system administration across International Health Unit programs.
- Conduct routine data quality assessments, develop reporting standards, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure medical information is accurate, consistent, secure, and available to support organizational operations.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of medical information systems across headquarters, country offices, Community Medical Outreach programs, Emergency Medical Response operations, and field deployments.
- Provide technical leadership and user support; develop training materials, conduct user training, coordinate system enhancements, and work collaboratively with Information Technology and operational teams to improve system performance and user adoption.
- Collaborate with Information Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation, Geographic Information Systems, and other organizational stakeholders to integrate medical information systems and strengthen enterprise medical capabilities.
- Evaluate and apply automation, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, organizational learning, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
- Other duties as assigned
What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Epidemiology, Monitoring and Evaluation, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred; Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, administering, configuring, and supporting District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) is preferred.
- Experience designing and maintaining organizational dashboards, reporting systems, data visualizations, key performance indicators, and executive decision-support tools is required.
- Experience developing data governance standards, data quality assurance processes, reporting frameworks, and system documentation is preferred.
- Experience supporting international health programs, emergency medical response operations, humanitarian organizations, or country office programming is preferred.
- Experience coordinating software implementations, managing organizational change, conducting user training, and providing technical support across multiple stakeholder groups is preferred.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, automation, business intelligence, statistical analysis, or emerging information technologies applicable to healthcare or humanitarian operations is preferred.
- Clinical, healthcare operations, or medical programming experience is desirable.
- Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies is strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
