Manager Identity Access Management information

What does a Manager of Identity Access Management do?

A Manager of Identity Access Management (IAM) oversees the systems and processes that control how users access company resources and information. They are responsible for ensuring the right individuals have the appropriate access to technology resources, maintaining security, compliance, and efficiency. Their role includes developing and enforcing access policies, managing user accounts and permissions, and leading a team of IAM professionals to mitigate security risks. They also collaborate with IT and security teams to implement best practices and respond to audits or incidents.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Manager, Identity Access Management, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Manager, Identity Access Management (IAM), you need in-depth knowledge of access control, authentication protocols, and risk management, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
