About The Role

We're seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our Mid-Market Commercial Insurance team in Oakville. The Account Manager is a key client service partner to producers on an assigned book of business, playing a central role in maintaining long-term client relationships while identifying growth opportunities and delivering tailored insurance solutions.

This role combines strong client management capabilities with business development accountability. The successful candidate will manage and grow an existing portfolio, generate new business opportunities, and contribute to team development by mentoring junior Account Managers and associates.

This is an ideal opportunity for a strong team player who is organized, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and committed to delivering results within required deadlines.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a primary point of contact for an assigned book of business; maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers.

  • Meet existing client needs, including but not limited to quotes, premium adjustments, endorsements, renewals, and claims support.

  • Prepare and monitor insurance submissions, proposals, and summaries of insurance, with support from an Account Assistant for binders, certificates, and billing.

  • Negotiate with insurers to best meet client needs in conjunction with the Producer, including remarketing where necessary.

  • Collect premiums from clients in accordance with company standards and timelines.

  • Own and achieve individual sales targets through cross-selling, upselling, referrals, and new client acquisition.

  • Generate new business opportunities by leveraging networks, referrals, prospecting activity, and collaboration with Producers.

  • Identify opportunities to expand share of wallet within the existing client portfolio.

  • Mentor and support junior Account Managers and associates by providing coaching, technical guidance, and best practices in client service delivery.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture and support operational excellence across the department.

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario) license required.

  • Typically 7+ years of industry or product line experience, with a focus on commercial risks.

  • Extensive experience in the placement of Mid-Market risks (General P&C and Liability).

  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and contributing to revenue growth.

  • Proven ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.

  • Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring or coaching junior team members preferred.

  • Effective organizational skills and time management.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal), present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executives.

  • Experienced in delivering client-focused solutions based on unique needs.

  • Pursuit of insurance industry designations (CIP, CAIB, etc.) is an asset.

  • Proficiency with computer applications expected; EPIC experience is an asset.

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., base salary plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate's book of business at a particular time. The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 plus commission and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience andworking location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
