Holistic Asthetician Position Description:


Overall Purpose: Sparrow’s Nest, as a tranquil haven for wellness, employs dedicated and compassionate professional staff members. Holistic Aestheticians play a vital role in providing nurturing and specialized skincare treatments to women at various stages of their maternity journey, including those trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding. 


Professional Objective: To deliver the most therapeutically beneficial and appropriate facials and skincare for our clientele.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations with clients to assess their skincare needs and concerns, taking into account their stage of maternity and any related health considerations.
  • Provide personalized skincare recommendations and treatment plans tailored to each client's unique skin type, concerns, and maternity stage, including those trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding.
  • Perform a variety of holistic skincare treatments, including facials, massages, exfoliation, and moisturizing therapies, using natural and pregnancy-safe products and techniques.
  • Offer specialized treatments to address common skincare issues experienced during the client’s stage of maternity, such as hormonal changes, pigmentation, sensitivity, and hydration imbalances.
  • Educate clients on safe and effective skincare practices during pregnancy and breastfeeding, including ingredient awareness, sun protection, and self-care routines.
  • Collaborate with other practitioners within the wellness center, such as midwives, doulas, nutritionists, and holistic therapists, to provide holistic and integrated care to clients.
    • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and inviting treatment environment in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Stay informed about the latest trends, research, and developments in holistic skincare, maternity wellness, and pregnancy-safe ingredients to enhance service offerings and client satisfaction.
    • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and client confidentiality in all interactions and treatments.
    • Evaluate clients’ specific needs and expectations to determine the best appropriate services, products and personal attention required to achieve satisfaction
    • Interact cooperatively with other spa team members to provide a seamless customer experience
    • Presents a professional and respectful persona for customers and co-workers
    • Monitor the appointment schedule throughout the day to stay informed on changes, and performs treatments in the allotted amount of time, remaining on schedule

      Other Duties

      • Participate in all staff and team educational meetings
      • Adhere to Company policies regarding dress and appearance
      • Practice the highest standard of sanitation and tidiness in the spa
      • Actively build a repeat clientele, and meets service and retail sales performance requirements
      • Use appropriate quantities of products and laundry in accordance with Company protocols
      • Participate in laundering linens, washing, drying and folding items during shift; and inventory management, receiving, ticketing and stocking merchandise as needed
      • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving clients or co-workers that may require attention or follow-up
      • Is responsible for cleanliness of countertops and products within the cabin, stocking the room with linens and supplies as needed
      • Performs prepwork and cleans and restocks work areas as required, including, without limitation, periodic sanitation under vinyl table covers with UV wand of the table warmers
      • If not fully booked, utilizing any available time for client communications and supporting the team as needed

          Qualifications:


          • Certification or licensure as an aesthetician with training in holistic skincare techniques and practices.
          • Previous experience working in a spa, wellness center, or healthcare setting, with a focus on maternity skincare and wellness preferred.
          • Knowledge of pregnancy-safe skincare ingredients, contraindications, and treatment protocols.
          • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care, with sensitivity to the physical and emotional needs of women during various stages of maternity.
          • Customer service and team oriented
          • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with clients 
          • Flexible, with the ability to multi-task
          • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
          • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in the field of holistic skincare and maternity wellness.
