Job description

Assistant Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Engineer to join the engine department aboard an offshore support vessel operating in the Gulf. This is a hands-on position supporting the Chief Engineer with the safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of the vessel's machinery and auxiliary systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Stand engine room watches and monitor propulsion and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and associated machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and assist with equipment repairs.
  • Support bunkering, fuel transfers, lube oil management, and engine room housekeeping.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with company safety and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response duties and help ensure the engine room remains operationally ready throughout the hitch.
