Job description

About Us

At the Prosper Centers, our mission is to provide expertise, support, and resources that expand access and opportunity for all to thrive. Through our Health Coverage Program, we help community members enroll in affordable health insurance via the federal Marketplace—improving access to preventive care, protecting against medical debt, and supporting overall well-being. We are hiring a team of temporary, on-site staff to support our work during the Open Enrollment season from November 1 to mid-December.

Position Description

The Bilingual Enrollment Specialist (Floater) is part of a team that enrolls community members in affordable health insurance plans. This is a full-time position. Assigned shifts will include weekday and weekend hours. Knowledge of health insurance is a plus but not required. This is a temporary, seasonal, grant-funded position. Paid training is expected to begin in late September 2026, with the role continuing through mid-December 2026. Based on a determination by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding the Open Enrollment period, the assignment may be extended through mid-January 2027. Employment in this role is contingent upon continued grant funding and business needs, and may end sooner if funding is reduced, exhausted, or otherwise terminated. In no event will this position extend beyond the approved grant funding period.

This is a floater position, and the selected candidate must be willing and able to work from either the Prosper South (2900 S IH-35 Frontage Rd, Austin 78704) or Prosper North (601 W Braker Ln, Austin 78753) office based on staffing needs. The work location may vary throughout the week, and staff may be asked to alternate between offices as needed.

In addition, this role may be asked to "float" between teams based on operational needs. While the primary responsibility is supporting health insurance enrollment, the Bilingual Enrollment Specialist Floater may also assist the Health Coverage client support team by answering phone and email inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing general client support as needed.

  • Complete all paid trainings and Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification
  • Protect client confidentiality and PII/PHI in compliance with HIPAA policies
  • Provide coverage at Prosper North or Prosper South locations based on operational and staffing needs.
  • Float between the Enrollment Specialist and Health Coverage Client Support teams as needed, including answering phone and email inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing general client support.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Arabic, Hindi, Pashto required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to provide empathetic, trauma-informed services
  • Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and multi-task
  • Accurate, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency using standard office computer programs and databases
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to embody Prosper core values of candor, collaboration, dignity, empowerment, and diversity
