General Statement of Duties Forsyth County's Managers Office is searching for a motivated individual to fil the Grant Writer position. This position, under general supervision, research, develops, writes and submits grant proposals to secure funding from federal, state, local and various foundation sources. This position works closely with department directions and organizational leaders to identify funding opportunities, prepare competitive applications and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Reports to Administration. Distinguishing Features A qualified candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of grant research, proposal development, and grant administration practices. Knowledge of federal, state, and local funding programs.

Strong technical and professional writing skills. Ability to interpret grant guidelines, regulations, and funding requirements. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, grant management software, and online grant portals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, government agencies, and community partners.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Finance, Political Science, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in grant writing, grant administration, fundraising, public administration or a related field.

Experience preparing successful grant applications preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Research, develops, writes and submits grant proposals to secure funding from federal, state, local and various foundation sources. Works closely with department directors and organizational leaders to identify funding opportunities, prepare competitive applications.

Research and identifies grant funding opportunities that align with connecting federal, state, regional, local, foundation and private sector grants to our organization. Develops, writes, edits and submits grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry and support documentation. Monitors grant announcements, notices of funding opportunities and legislative funding initiatives.

Coordinates with department heads and staff to gather information, budgets, statistics and program data needed for grant submissions. Maintains a grants calendar and monitor application deadlines. Consults as needed with Departments as they develop grant budget development.

Maintains records of grant applications, awards and funding sources. Develops and maintains relationships with grant-making agencies, foundations and funding partners. Attends meetings, workshops and training sessions related to grant opportunities and administration.

Prepare reports and presentations regarding grant activities and funding outcomes including but not limited to board resolutions to accept grants and in collaboration with budget, ordinances to appropriate funds. Educates the public on the county's initiatives for grant funding projects. Attends training, seminars and workshops to maintain adequate job knowledge.

Work collaboratively with grant writers employed/contracted for specific work areas, e.g. Community and Economic Development Performs other related duties as assigned and completes special projects as directed.
