Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Schedule: 32–40 hours per week
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Grant Researcher to support funding research and development efforts for a mission-driven organization. This position will focus on identifying potential funding opportunities, evaluating funder requirements, organizing prospect information, and supporting the preparation of preliminary grant materials.
Responsibilities
- Research foundation, corporate, community, and government funding opportunities
- Review funder priorities, eligibility requirements, application guidelines, award history, and deadlines
- Evaluate potential opportunities based on organizational fit, funding potential, competitiveness, and application requirements
- Prepare clear summaries and recommendations regarding potential funding opportunities
- Maintain organized tracking systems for grant prospects, deadlines, requirements, and next steps
- Research prospective funders and document relevant funding history and areas of interest
- Assist with letters of inquiry, concept papers, grant proposals, and other preliminary materials
- Gather and organize information and documents needed for grant submissions
- Maintain organized research files and supporting documentation
- Provide research, writing, and editing support as needed
- Prepare organized handoff materials and recommendations at the conclusion of the assignment
Qualifications
- Strong research, analytical, writing, and editing skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret grant guidelines and funding requirements
- Strong ability to summarize complex information clearly
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in grant research, grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, communications, public administration, business, social sciences, or a related field
- Experience researching foundation, corporate, community, or government funding opportunities
- Experience with grant databases, funding research tools, CRM systems, or grant-tracking platforms
- Experience preparing or supporting letters of inquiry, proposals, or other funder communications
