Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Field Technician to join our geophysics survey team based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about working outdoors and eager to contribute to geophysical research and exploration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to conduct fieldwork in various outdoor environments, be detail-oriented, and have excellent data-collection skills. This person will participate in daily geophysical coordination and activities across the company, including conducting geophysical surveys, gathering and compiling data, and collaborating on projects involving our Geotechnical and Environmental groups across our offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys using geophysical instruments, including ground penetrating radar, resistivity, seismic, and magnetic equipment. 
  • Set up, tear down, calibrate, and maintain survey equipment.
  • Collect, record, and manage field data accurately and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with geophysicists and engineers to ensure data quality and project success.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations during all field activities.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a solid work ethic are essential.
  • Previous experience in fieldwork or geophysical surveys is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various outdoor settings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing conditions, and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in internet research, email, MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with GPS and other surveying tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote locations for extended periods.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and rugged landscapes.

Location: Phoenix, AZ (but travel throughout the state of Arizona may be required)
