Job Description

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis provides strategic leadership across financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and insights generation. This role establishes financial frameworks, planning assumptions, and performance expectations while strengthening financial discipline and decision-making. It also partners with senior leaders to enhance processes, drive automation, and build organizational capability aligned to enterprise priorities.

What You'll Do

  • Leads financial planning, target-setting, and forecasting activities to support enterprise performance management and cost discipline.

  • Guides the design and evolution of financial operating models and cost structures, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational priorities.

  • Drives continuous improvement in FP&A processes, governance, reporting, and automation to increase efficiency, transparency, and decision support.

  • Establishes financial assumptions, planning parameters, and performance frameworks to support consistent and reliable guidance.

  • Partners with business and functional leaders to align forecasts, reconcile assumptions, and provide integrated financial perspectives.

  • Provides oversight of financial analysis across a broad scope of business activities and adapts support as organizational priorities evolve.

  • Communicates with executive presence, translating business performance, operational drivers, and strategic initiatives into clear financial insights and recommendations.

  • Ensures reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, staffing, and benchmarking activities align with enterprise financial frameworks and business objectives.

  • Leads development of business cases, performance models, and financial frameworks for key initiatives, and monitors outcomes against expectations.

  • Builds organizational capability by developing talent, strengthening leadership readiness, and advancing a strategic advisory approach within FP&A.

  • Serves as a key finance partner across the organization to address complex business issues and promote stewardship, accountability, and effective management of enterprise resources.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 8+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and effectively delegate to a team of three Principal Financial Advisors.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
