Summary
Provides strategic leadership and overall oversight of the U.S. tax function, including tax accounting, compliance, planning, risk management, tax governance, and tax technology. This position is responsible for supporting the transition from a predominantly outsourced tax service model to a more internally managed tax organization. The role serves as the primary tax advisor to executive management and Korea HQ, providing technical tax guidance on federal, state and local, international, and cross-border tax matters.This position leads the development of internal tax capabilities, manages relationships with external tax advisors, oversees tax provision and compliance processes, and supports continuous improvement of tax processes and systems. Big 4 public accounting experience and hands-on experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, or similar enterprise tax software are strongly preferred.
Compensation
$151,000 - $196,000 yearly salary range. (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
ㆍLead and oversee all U.S. tax functions, including federal income tax, state and local tax, tax accounting, tax compliance, tax planning, and tax reporting.
ㆍDevelop and enhance internal tax capabilities, processes, and governance to support the company's tax function.
ㆍOversee quarterly and annual tax provision processes under U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including review of current/deferred taxes, tax reserves, and related financial reporting matters.
ㆍManage federal, state, and local income tax compliance, including tax returns, estimates, extensions, notices, and related filings.
ㆍProvide technical tax guidance and strategic recommendations to executive management, Finance, Accounting, Legal, HR, Operations, and Korea HQ.
ㆍLead and manage tax audits, examinations, inquiries, controversy matters, and communications with tax authorities.
ㆍCoordinate with Korea HQ and external advisors on international tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, and cross-border tax matters.
ㆍOversee tax advisory services and review tax compliance filings and supporting documentation of domestic affiliates and subsidiaries.
ㆍEstablish and maintain tax governance, internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
ㆍManage and review the work of external tax advisors, auditors, and service providers to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with company objectives.
ㆍLead tax technology and process improvement initiatives, including implementation, optimization, and effective use of Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, or similar tax software.
ㆍRecruit, train, mentor, and develop tax team members to strengthen in-house tax knowledge, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
ㆍMonitor tax law and regulatory developments and evaluate potential impacts, risks, and opportunities for the company.
ㆍSupport business expansion, restructuring, M&A, new business initiatives, and other strategic projects from a tax perspective.
ㆍEvaluate and support federal, state, and local tax incentives, credits, and economic development opportunities.
ㆍAssist with ERP, finance transformation, automation, and tax data improvement projects.
ㆍPrepare tax-related reports, presentations, and analysis for executive management and Korea HQ.
ㆍSupport cross-functional projects involving Accounting, Treasury, Legal, HR, Procurement, and Operations.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors Required
  • 10-18 years of direct experience in Corporate income tax, ASC 740 tax provision,tax planning, tax audit management
  • 5-10 years supervisory experience
  • CPA Required
