About this Position

The film and tourism programs are all part of a versatile and cohesive Brand MT team that works to sustain and grow Montana's economy. The programs develop and use communications, advertising, development and promotional campaigns to showcase Montana and create awareness about the state as a place to visit and do business. Through data-driven strategies and grant programs, the team aims to preserve and promote the genuine character of Montana and partners to achieve a sustainable economic future for all.

The Film Office Multimedia Coordinator is responsible for promoting Montana as a filming location through a variety of outreach activities. This position provides excellent customer service to film production personnel that contact the office via the phone or web, prepares online or in person presentations and materials, and assists with logistics for filming locations and projects.  This position coordinates film office event preparation and scheduling, film festival sponsorships, personnel attendance, panels, remarks and assistance to filmmakers and coordinates with the communications department on press inquiries, newsletters and outreach. Participates in strategic and marketing planning. This position coordinates and participates in development of web, multimedia, and graphic design needs for the film office, edits video projects as needed. This position coordinates the film office social media channels, youtube, vimeo and other internet operations.

Position Duties

  • Coordinates the office multimedia needs with accuracy and expedient timeline necessary to keep events and projects on track and moving forward.
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining and promoting open lines of communication and a smooth flow of information, which ensures that the MFO team's operations are fulfilled in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • This position will perform a variety of other duties in support of marketing projects, outreach campaigns, and content gathering.
  • Coordinates and assists with critical logistics pertaining to events, film festivals, travel, projects, and location research.

What are we looking for?

Education and Experience: 

  • High school and 2 years of relevant training and experience. 
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • (It would pique our interest if you had project management experience or experience in the film industry)

Competencies: 

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Content & Data management systems and current creative computers systems (graphic and web)
  • Work on multiple projects with unpredictable deadline and prioritize accordingly

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing while being discrete as some of the information may be highly sensitive.

  • Design and implement procedural efficiencies
