Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Assist with marketing, communication and public events that support the Commission's mission of stewardship of the state's fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreation resources. Coordinate agency events and marketing activities in collaboration with internal teams, ensuring projects, events and communications align with brand standards, meet deadlines and deliver excellent customer experiences. Assist Creative Team with project coordination and workflow management, support planning, execution and evaluation of marketing/communication efforts across print, digital, email, social media, video and in-person presentations. Write, edit and proofread marketing and advertising content for print, digital and social media platforms. Facilitate communication among project stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and successful project delivery. Research, plan and manage agency events, including sport shows, the Nebraska State Fair exhibit and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities and/or public information programs. Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
Other: Ability to lift 25 lbs. Driver's license required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong collaborative and relationship-building skills and a thorough understanding of modern marketing principles, strategies and best practices. Knowledge of event planning and management, communication tactics and ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects that achieve communication objectives. Strong organizational, project management and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting objectives and maintaining attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creative writing, editing and proofreading for a variety of media formats. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, email marketing platforms, project management tools and video production is preferred. Knowledge of or interest in outdoor recreation, including camping, boating, backpacking, wildlife, state parks, hunting and fishing, is a plus. Three to five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, event management or a related field is preferred.
