Job description

CTG is seeking experienced Epic Principal Trainers (PTs) to support an Epic implementation and optimization initiative.   

Location: West Coast Healthcare System within the Pacific Standard Time zone.

Duration:  12-months

The Epic Certified Principal Trainer (PT) will be responsible for designing, delivering, and refining training curricula for Epic and Health IT systems within a leading health system. The PT will support various phases of training development, including discovery, curriculum modernization, and execution, aligning training content with clinical practices and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discovery and Assessment: Analyze the current training curriculum based on assessments of workflows, supplemental materials, and interviews with stakeholders and end-users to identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Curriculum Modernization: Develop and update training curricula based on needs identified during the discovery phase. These updates include building and/or updating the training environment and supplemental materials.
  • Training Execution: Credential CTs and provide training to internal training team and any applicable stakeholders as necessary to ensure effective learning and mastery of the EHR system.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Must be Epic certified in primary application(s). Multiple certifications are preferred, including any combination of:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in developing and delivering physician Epic training programs, preferably within large academic or complex health systems. Experience in building and optimizing the Epic training environment, proficient in using MST Build tools, Mitosis, Scotty, and manual patient build. Experience building and updating Learning Home Dashboard (LHD) preferred.
  • STS/Physician Specialty Training: Must possess specialty training experience in one or more specialties such as: Anesthesia, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Medicine (Gen Med), Neurological Surgery, Neurology, Ob/Gyn & Reproductive Sci, Ophthalmology, Oral & Maxillofacial, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery (Med Surg/Gen Surg), and/or Urology.
  • Diverse Training Technology Use – Experienced with use of different training technologies including LMS systems, eLearning and content platforms and creatively using other platforms to facilitate successful and creative training content creation. 
  • Skills: Exceptional instructional design skills with the ability to analyze, design, and deliver engaging and effective training. Strong technical proficiency in Epic systems and the ability to adapt training methods to various learner needs. Experience with Voalte, Dragon & Zoom is helpful.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $85.00 to $90.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
