Job description

Job Title: Chemical Engraving Technician
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Manager
Location: Maumee, OH
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Engraving Technician to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone interested in learning specialized processes related to chemical engraving, mold texturing, and tooling preparation for the automotive and manufacturing industries.
The technician will support various stages of the engraving and texturing process, including mold preparation, masking, blasting, cleaning, inspection, shipping/receiving, and general production support. Training will be provided for the right candidate with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with chemical engraving, mold texturing, and tooling preparation processes
  • Support mold set-up, tear down, cleaning, staging, and handling with care and attention to detail
  • Prepare molds and tooling through masking, blasting, cleaning, and inspection procedures according to work instructions
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other production-related machinery as trained
  • Assist with troubleshooting tooling or production issues and communicate concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Work closely with other departments such as Laser Engraving, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to coordinate finished work, support workflow efficiency, and ensure production schedules are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tooling, equipment, and work areas
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties including checking in tooling, preparing completed jobs for shipment, and organizing incoming materials
  • Run sample parts and assist with process verification for new or transferred tooling projects
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and quality standards at all times
  • Support additional production and engraving-related duties as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Miscellaneous duties in support of the chemical engraving team
Qualifications & Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn specialized manufacturing processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic computer and documentation skills preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, automotive, tooling, machine operation, or industrial experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with engraving, etching, blasting, molding, or texturing is helpful but not required - training will be provided.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical school training, vocational certification, or manufacturing coursework preferred but not required
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment, tooling, chemicals, and production machinery with proper PPE
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week with overtime and occasional weekends as needed
