Davenergy is seeking a remote full-time Professional Field Electrical Technician to join our dynamic and growing engineering consulting practice. We are looking for motivated candidates who can grow with this department. The selected applicant will conduct commissioning, retro-commissioning, engineering feasibility analysis, electrical studies, field arc flash data gathering, and field data collection assistance services on a variety of building types. Experience performing electrical systems testing, and existing electrical system data collection is a requirement for applying to this position.


This position will require you to perform field inspections of government, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and institutional properties. You will collect relevant information to help perform existing condition assessments, electrical one line documentation, arc flash studies, and to provide recommendations for critical power upgrades. The ideal candidate will be adaptive to working with all property types, and knowledgeable about a variety of electrical distribution systems. The successful candidate may also be expected help perform commissioning activities, construction verification, and field functional testing. Depending on project capacity, this candidate may also be expected to assist in limited mechanical design field verification.

Requirements:
  • Site survey and analysis
  • Commissioning of new construction buildings
  • Critical power and infrastructure testing and assessment
  • Arc Flash analysis and associated data collection
  • Facility circuit tracing and verification
  • An understanding of and experience with a variety of electrical distribution systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical system documentation to include on-line drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Experience with medium voltage and low voltage power distribution
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, NETA, and IECC standards
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, IT/Com, ect.)
  • Excellent report writing skills, computer and internet skills
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete assignments on-time and within budget
  • Ability to travel on short notice (1 week or less)

Communication, Language, and Software Skills:

  • Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
  • Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills.
