Job description

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experiencedAccounting Managerwho will oversee critical accounting operations. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close, supporting audits, overseeing grant accounting and compliance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, non-profit experience, and hands-on expertise with Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute themonthly, quarterly, and annual close process
  • Prepare and reviewjournal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, includingbank and investment accounts
  • Produce and analyzefinancial statements and internal financial reports
  • Leadgrant accounting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards
  • Supportexternal auditsand serve as a key contact for auditors
  • Oversee and reviewaccounts payabletransactions and controls
  • Assist with and supportpayroll processing, including coordination with HR and payroll vendors
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and reporting support
  • Utilize and maintain accounting systems, includingDynamics GP (Great Plains)
Systems & Tools
  • Required:Dynamics GP / Great Plains
  • Preferred:
    • Concur (expense management)
    • ADP Workforce Now (payroll and HR)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degreein Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • Non-profit accounting experience(required)
  • Strong knowledge ofGAAPand non-profit accounting standards
  • Proven experience with:
    • Month-end close
    • Journal entries and accruals
    • Bank and investment reconciliations
    • Grant accounting and compliance
    • Audit preparation and support
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
