The Opportunity with McKinstry 

McKinstry is looking for a Supplier Diversity Program Manager to support our growing procurement team in Seattle, WA. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will provide overall operational leadership and set enterprise strategy for supplier diversity initiatives company-wide. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will have primary responsibility for developing an enterprise program with corresponding tools, resources, training, and guidance to enhance inclusion and enablement of subcontractors and suppliers that are certified Minority, Woman, LGBT, Veteran, Service Disabled Veteran, Person with Disability Owned and Small Business Enterprises. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager provide operational guidance and leadership to the procurement team, project managers, and other business stakeholders to evaluate industry best practices and market dynamics to proactively identify opportunities that incorporate diverse suppliers and subcontractors on projects. The program manager will also lead outreach to diverse contractors in primary geographies, work to identify and mitigate structural barriers that limit inclusion of diverse supplier and subcontractors on projects, and develop an approach to mentorship/protegee partnerships.. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include: 

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain best-in-class supplier diversity program that aligns with McKinstry's aspirational desire to increase spend to historically underserved and underrepresented businesses; manage all aspects of the program.

  • Develop tools, training, resources, guidance, and innovative best practices that support and enable project teams to meet and exceed supplier diversity requirements on projects.

  • Build relationships in McKinstry's primary markets and enhance brand reputation among diverse subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on McKinstry's supplier diversity data and spend; track and report company-wide MWDBE participation by customer project, market, year and business unit.

  • Collaborate with DEI and procurement teams to develop goals and key performance indicators with key internal stakeholders and provide regular updates and reporting on performance.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide support on RFP responses or project plan development; participate in client engagement as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry 

  • 7+ years of relevant leadership experience including managing and leading people, designing and leading projects and programs, and managing events.

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and principles, including experience in small and disadvantaged business contracting and program management.

  • Industry experience in construction, engineering, energy performance contracting, or high-performance design-build.

  • Research and analytical skills, including experience in conducting stakeholder interviews.

  • Ability to function well in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations.

  • Excellent sense of self-direction and self-motivation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and navigate across a national, non-hierarchical organization.

  • Skill with off-the-shelf analytical tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerBI, Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint).

The pay range for this position is $68,310 - $114,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
