SUMMARY ย
Under general supervision, performs a variety of functions relating to day-to-day activities of the golf course operations, including working in the golf shop, practice facilities, food and beverage area and inside/outside guest services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ย
The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive.ย Other duties may be assigned.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Opens and closes the golf shop and practice facilities. Ensures that all day-to-day operations are performed in accordance with daily policy and procedures.ย ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย Interacts and provides excellent customer service to guests, answering questions and providing information regarding programs, policies, and course conditions. Assists customers with retail sales.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Uses computerized point-of-sale systems to collect golf, range and retail fees. Ensures all players in each group have paid appropriate fees. Enters data into various software programs.ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย Determines order of play and calls groups to starting tee in a timely fashion. Communicates with staff on starting groups, turn times, and any other on-course issues.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Answers phone calls to schedule tee times, provide information, and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Has full knowledge of tournaments and league operations to answer guest inquiries. Assists with tournament operations, GHIN handicapping for events, and outside guest services, including golf cart and practice facility operations.ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย Assists in merchandising operation by updating displays and rotating merchandise. Has full understanding of merchandise assortment in order to increase golf shop sales. Informs the appropriate personnel when supplies are low and need to be ordered.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Operates the food and beverage area, including the sale of alcoholic beverages and preparation of minor grab-and-go foods such as sandwiches and hot dogs. Stocks inventory in food and beverage area, as needed.ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย Keeps golf shop, eating areas, patio, bar, cooking area and restrooms clean and orderly, as assigned.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Completes necessary registration paperwork.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Communicates effectively with all members of the golf course staff.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Drives a golf cart or other utility vehicle when necessary.
ยทย ย ย ย ย May help coordinate and oversee all league play on a daily or weekly basis.
ยทย ย ย ย ย May perform duties related to the maintenance and operations of the golf course and/or driving range.
ยทย ย ย ย ย May be responsible for nightly general ledger/cash turn-ins.
ยทย ย ย ย ย In the absence of golf management, may provide operational coverage and address routine issues using established procedures, and promptly notify management of all actions taken. Keeps management team informed of all such interactions and decisions.ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย May lead and train less experienced staff members on duties and procedures.
ยทย ย ย ย ย May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays with the possibility of overtime hours.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
ยทย ย ย ย ย Must be 17 years of age (Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol)
ยทย ย ย ย ย High School Diploma or Equivalent (May be in progress for applicants still in school)
ยทย ย ย ย ย A valid Driverโs License
ยทย ย ย ย ย Must be able to pass a criminal background check
ยทย ย ย ย ย Basic knowledge of the game of golf and golf course etiquette is preferred, but not required.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Alcohol service training is required upon hire. ย
ยทย ย ย ย ย Food handling training is required upon hire.ย ย ย
