This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position can accommodate a variety of work schedules. Employees can work anywhere from about 16 hours per week to no more than 39 hours per week, dependent on the needs of each course and the employee's availability. This is typically a seasonal position. Oncall positions may have routine or variable work schedules. The pay for this position is $19.29/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Location

The Denver Municipal Golf Courses are open for play year-round (weather permitting) from daylight until dark, and the golf pro shops are open 364 days a year. In this position, you can expect to work on site at one of the locations listed below:

  • City Park Golf Course (3181 E. 23rd Ave.)

  • Evergreen Golf Course (29614 Upper Bear Creek Rd.)

  • Kennedy Golf Course (10500 E. Hampden Ave.)

  • Wellshire Golf Course (3333 S. Colorado Blvd.)

  • Willis Case Golf Course (4999 Vrain St.)

With eight golf facilities, Denver Golf, part of the City and County of Denver's Department of Parks and Recreation, has something for everyone! Denver Golf's diverse portfolio includes one 27-hole regulation golf course, four 18-hole regulation golf courses, one 18-hole executive mountain golf course, two 9-hole par three golf courses, two Miniature Golf facilities, five driving ranges (including the signature Aqua Golf water range), six Restaurants, and Denver Junior Golf - The First Tee of Denver (one of the largest Junior Golf programs in the country). We are currently seeking Golf Course Outdoor Workers as we prepare for our busiest season yet! This role is an entry-level role, where Golf Course Outdoor Workers collaborate with their team - building skills, knowledge, and maintenance proficiencies - in preparation for the next level up, Golf Course Utility Worker II.

Specifically, as a Golf Course Outdoor Workers, you will:

  • Perform routine golf course maintenance

  • Operate and utilize entry level golf maintenance equipment, such as push mowers, triplex mowers, sprinkler head trimmers, string trimmers, divot repair tools, shovels, and rakes

  • Assist in course upkeep and setup

  • Mow, aerate, and fertilize the course and other landscaped areas

  • Load and unload equipment and supplies, clean and care for basic tools and equipment

  • Assist in the repair of water line breaks, cut and lay sod, and clean sprinkler lines, valves, and heads

  • Assist in the basic maintenance of golf irrigation systems

  • Assist with horticultural tasks in flower beds and other plantings

  • May assist tree trimmers in the maintenance of trimming, removing, and spraying trees

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
