Manager, Risk (ACUTE RISK MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE Required)

Position Summary
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Risk with acute risk management experience, The ideal candidate will oversee the organization’s Risk Management Program, ensuring proactive identification, mitigation, and monitoring of risks across clinical and non-clinical operations. You will serve as a key liaison between clinical teams, leadership, legal counsel, and insurance partners while guiding incident investigation, claims management, and patient safety initiatives.

    This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise directly supports patient safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Risk Management Program across hospital and corporate operations

  • Oversee incident reporting systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (including Safe Medical Devices Act)

  • Identify trends in patient complaints and risk events and present findings to executive leadership

  • Manage occurrence review and claims file administration

  • Serve as internal/external liaison for potential and active liability claims

  • Act as Site Administrator for RADAR Claims Module (PCE tracking)

  • Coordinate investigations, documentation, and defense preparation with legal counsel

  • Respond to patient/visitor compensation requests and claims inquiries

  • Support credentialing processes with risk-related staff performance insights

  • Maintain litigation holds, evidence preservation, and root cause analysis protections

  • Represent the organization in depositions, trials, and legal proceedings when required

  • Approve limited settlement payments and manage small claims within authority

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong background in healthcare operations or risk-related functions

Preferred
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline

  • CPHRM certification (strongly preferred but not required)

  • 5+ years of technical experience in healthcare risk management

  • 1+ year in leadership or supervisory role
