Senior Manager Data Science and Advanced Analytics - Operations - Stamford, CT
At PMI U.S., we are building a modern nicotine business-focused on helping make a future without cigarettes a reality in America. As the U.S. businesses of Philip Morris International, we are investing in new products, science, and capabilities to provide the approximately 25 million legal age adults who still smoke with better alternatives.
Our approach is rooted in innovation, responsible marketing, and a growing U.S. footprint that spans manufacturing, technology, and commercial operations across the country.
That creates real opportunity. You'll have the space to take ownership, develop new ideas, and contribute to work that is shaping our business and the category. We're looking for people who are curious, collaborative, and motivated by progress-because the scale of what we're building creates room to grow in different directions.
Our beautiful HQ in Stamford, CT is just steps away from the Stamford Metro-North Train Station and easily accessible from NYC.
About the Role
Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics (Operations) - This leader drives data-driven strategy and execution for the Operations function in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. The role blends strategic insight with hands-on analytics to optimize performance across supply chain & manufacturing, order-to-cash, and demand planning & forecasting. In a player-coach capacity, the Senior Manager leads a small team (2 analysts) while personally delivering key analyses and recommendations to guide operational decision-making.
Your 'day to day':
  • Deliver actionable insights across supply chain, manufacturing, order-to-cash, and demand planning processes to improve operational efficiency and performance.
  • Develop and own the Operations analytics roadmap (metrics, dashboards, advanced analysis) to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective integration of data from ERP and Salesforce systems, collaborating with IT on data architecture and flow enhancements for a holistic view of Operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT) to identify opportunities and translate data findings into strategic recommendations.

Team Leadership Expectations:
  • Lead and mentor a small team of 2 analysts, fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture.
  • Act as a player-coach by balancing hands-on analytics execution with guiding the team's work to ensure quality and alignment with business goals.

Who we're looking for:
  • Significant experience in operations-focused analytics or business intelligence (supply chain, manufacturing, or customer operations) in a CPG or similar industry, with a track record of using data to drive process improvements and optimize performance.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) and Salesforce CRM, including conceptual knowledge of data flows between these enterprise systems.
  • Ability to define and influence data architecture and integration requirements, partnering with IT to implement robust data solutions (not a hands-on engineering role).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including expertise in developing metrics/dashboards and communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Skills:
  • Operations analytics (supply chain, manufacturing, order-to-cash, demand planning & forecasting)
  • Business insight generation and data storytelling for operational leaders
  • ERP, PLM & Salesforce systems knowledge, including conceptual data flow and integration patterns
  • Data architecture and integration influence (requirements definition, roadmap ownership)
  • KPI design, performance management, and continuous improvement analytics
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management and influence
  • Team leadership and coaching (player-coach model)
  • Structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis
  • Executive-ready communication and presentation skills
