Responsibilities:
The Cogito Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, governance, prioritization, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Epic Cogito reporting and analytics initiatives across Stamford Health. This role leads a team of Epic Business Intelligence Developers (BIDs) and reports to the Executive Director, Strategy, Analytics, & Innovation. The role serves as the primary point of coordination between operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, Epic application teams, data architects, and reporting developers to ensure successful delivery of analytics solutions.
The Cogito Project Manager manages the reporting project portfolio, facilitates governance processes, oversees project execution, coordinates Epic upgrade readiness activities, and ensures that reporting solutions align with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, healthcare analytics, and Epic Cogito expertise. This position serves as a key contributor to Stamford Health's enterprise data and analytics strategy.
Portfolio & Governance Management
• Lead Cogito reporting intake, evaluation, prioritization, and governance processes.
• Participate and lead portions of data and analytics committees and processes.
• Maintain the Cogito project portfolio and strategic roadmap.
• Establish reporting standards and project governance practices.
• Manage Cogito team productivity and performance.
• Contribute to definition of and manage performance towards annual department priorities.
• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of Cogito team initiatives.
Epic Cogito Program Leadership
• Coordinate implementation of Cogito reporting enhancements.
• Support Epic upgrades, new module implementations, and Foundation System adoption.
• Collaborate with Epic application teams to identify reporting impacts.
• Ensure adherence to Epic best practices and recommended workflows.
• Advance organizational adoption and optimization of Cogito, e.g., through partnership with training team, informal support and trainings
• Partner with operational, financial, quality, and clinical leaders to address ongoing and ad-hoc reporting needs.
Analytics Strategy & Optimization
• Promote standardized reporting and enterprise analytics adoption.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
• Support organizational performance initiatives through analytics solutions.
• Monitor emerging Epic and healthcare analytics capabilities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Master's Degree Preferred
• 5+ years of healthcare information systems, analytics, or Epic project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex healthcare data analytics projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
• Experience with Epic Cogito and Epic implementations, upgrades, and reporting governance.
• Epic Cogito Project Manager certification required. Understanding of Epic Cogito, Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, Caboodle, and Clarity.
• Relevant Epic certifications in Cogito applications preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with Tableau preferred.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare operational, financial, and clinical reporting.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and governance frameworks.
