Job description

A leading 592-bed teaching hospital on the Jersey Shore is seeking a dynamic, clinically engaged physician leader to serve as Chair of Radiology. The hospital features one of New Jerseys busiest Emergency Departments and strong specialty programs in orthopedics, womens health, cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, and robotic surgery. The radiology department is part of a rapidly expanding service line with more than 60 radiologists practicing across multiple hospitals.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Subspecialty fellowship training with strong, broad general radiology skills (XR/US/CT/MR/fluoroscopy), including emergency neuroradiology, and the ability to share weekend diagnostic shifts.

  • 10"15 years of post-training experience, with a record of being highly clinically active and hands-on.

  • Demonstrated leadership success in recruitment, retention, and faculty mentorship.

  • Strong communication, professionalism, and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working with hospital leadership to advance clinical and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example in quality, collegiality, and professionalism.

  • Managing workflow and mentoring staff to meet clinical demands.

  • Partnering with health system leaders to set strategy and improve operations.

  • Driving process improvement and collaborative initiatives across departments.
