Job description

MSW & Machine is looking for an eager and hardworking Machinist to join our team! At this time we are accepting resumes from entry level to experienced machinists. We are willing to train the right person, who is a good fit with the crew and shows interest in continuing with the company.

Experience in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge are preferred, but not required.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, and grow your career within our business.

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
  • Operate manual machines
  • Develop and modify CNC programs
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including tool changes, calibration, and inspection of tooling and fixtures.
  • Apply electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for intricate or hard-to-machine components when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, and power tools as needed for assembly or repairs.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Machinist with proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, mechanical concepts, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software would be a bonus!
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of tooling setup, selection of cutting tools, and use of hand tools for machining tasks.
  • Capability of problem-solving within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
