Job description

This position is responsible for supporting the assigned pelletizing machine, ensuring both their own safety and that of their coworkers by adhering to safety guidelines and Company policies. Additionally, the operator is responsible for ensuring the quality of the products manufactured by their machine or assigned process and must follow established procedures and work instructions. The operator is also responsible for meeting production objectives.

This position reports to the Pelletizer Leader and Pelletizer Supervisor.

DESCRIPTION

  • Application of the Company’s Core Values in the work environment.
  • Follow the established operation processes and procedures for pelletizing machines:
    • Change mesh screens.
    • Clean filters (water, sleeves).
    • Clean the vacuum system.
    • Clean the vacuum system components.
    • Supply material to the mill.
    • Change the cutting head knives).
  • Knowledge of recycled materials and the difference between HDPE/LDPE.
  • Knowledge of scrap materials and their differences.
  • Operate the Radius system:
    • Material receipt.
    • Issue management.
  • Generate production reports as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

COMPETENCIES

  • Willingness to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jacks.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in plastic recycling and knowledge of material differences.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with computer systems (Office).  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move around and communicate effectively in the work area.
  • Ability to work in high and low temperature environments
  • Ability to move and communicate easily within the work environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor, with exposure to loud noises, machinery (including moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and scissor lifts), and varying temperatures. There may also be potential exposure to certain chemicals.
  • The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times.
