Job Overview:
  • The Pre-Analytical Assistant I will support specimen processing and technical operations in a clinical laboratory environment. 
  • This role involves handling biological specimens, ensuring accurate processing, maintaining compliance with laboratory standards, and supporting timely and high-quality test result delivery. 
  • The position requires strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, and adherence to safety and compliance protocols.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a production and fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy.
  • Ability to follow compliance, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in standing/sitting/walking conditions for extended periods.

Experience:

  • Experience in a clinical laboratory or medical environment preferred.
  • Experience in a production or high-volume processing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and perform assigned duties within Pre-Analytical and Specimen Processing operations.

  • Support sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of work tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research test order information using system tools and directories of services.
  • Maintain quality and production standards following training completion.
  • Support workflow continuity during staff absences or high-volume periods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient lab operations.
