Description:

The Barista is responsible for creating an exceptional coffee experience for every guest by preparing high-quality beverages and providing friendly, knowledgeable service. This role includes educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, promoting featured beverages and food items, and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to hospitality.  To be successful in this role, you should possess strong customer service skills and knowledge of espresso machines and other coffee equipment operations. This position is located at one of our Atlanta-area coffee bars. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and interact with customers
  • Educate customers about menu items and answer any questions
  • Take orders with attention to detail, such as allergies and preferences
  • Follow recipes to prepare beverages, serve coffee, tea and other beverages as well as cafe food items
  • Receive and process payments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain equipment to ensure proper function and identify repair or maintenance needs
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred. 
  • Experience operating commercial espresso equipment is a plus. 
  • Passion for coffee and providing outstanding customer service. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. 
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds. 
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. 
  • Must be able to work early morning shifts, Monday through Friday. 
  • Food Handler or ServSafe certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain if required).
