Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager leads day-to-day accounting operations for 02S Equipment and Logistics business and is responsible for accurate close execution, reconciliations, transactional integrity, process consistency, data integrity, process improvements, and reliable financial reporting.
This role typically partners with finance leadership, operations teams, corporate accounting, and regional teams to maintain sound accounting processes and support the business unit with timely, accurate information.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, reconciliations, and review of P&L and balance sheet activity.
  • Maintain close calendars, SOPs, and supporting checklists to ensure timely and consistent accounting routines.
  • Ensure billing, inter-project service charges, cost allocations, AP/AR, inventory/asset accounting (where applicable), and month-end close routines are executed accurately, consistently, and on time.
  • Maintain CMiC structures and data quality so that costing methodologies and profit allocation can be executed reliably and performance can be reported by product line and region.
  • Maintain accounting structures and data integrity in systems such as CMiC, Equipment costing, including equipment setup, departments, jobs, sub-jobs, and cost coding where relevant.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Accounting and 02S Internal Controls to ensure compliance with McCarthy accounting policies, GAAP, and audit requirements.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff, review work quality, and provide day-to-day guidance on priorities and process expectations.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for accounting and finance questions from teams, operations, regional teams, and corporate partners.
  • Identify process issues, reduce errors, improve controls, and support training and rollout of tools or new processes.
  • Track, monitor and allocate national supplier rebates.
  • Assist in internal financial reporting.
  • Assist in quarterly profit projections.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated success accounting experience
  • Experience in the construction or equipment rental industry preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting applications required
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, and / or AI enablement preferred
  • Experience supervising staff or leading accounting processes in a fast-moving environment
  • High attention to detail and track record of process improvement
