Job description

About SpendHQ
SpendHQ is a fast-growing and dynamic ProcuretTech Scale-up with an incredible collaborative company culture. Our team is constantly innovating, we invented performance management for procurement, and we are a market leader and innovator in spend analytics. We provide procurement teams with the tools they need to drive value for their organization, and we have fun doing it.
The SpendHQ SaaS solution has been on the market for over 10 years. Our clients are recognized market leaders from both mid-size organizations and large, multinational corporations. There are 20,000+ SpendHQ users across 500+ global clients.
It is thanks to each of our employees that we are where we are today. We proudly have more than 100 team members in 10 countries with headquarters in both Atlanta and Lyon. But we are not stopping here. SpendHQ is taking on new challenges, and we look forward to continuing to grow the company and team.
Where would you fit in the team?
SpendHQ is looking for a Technical Implementation Architect to serve as the client-facing technical authority across enterprise implementation, selected pre-sales discovery and post-implementation needs
This role sits within the Delivery organization and works closely with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Security, Product, Engineering, and Data Integration teams. You will help prospects and customers understand SpendHQ’s architecture, integration patterns, data flows, SSO, APIs, SFTP, secure connectivity options, and implementation best practices.
The purpose of this role is to reduce technical ambiguity, keep implementations aligned to SpendHQ’s standard product capabilities, and ensure that routine technical questions can be handled without unnecessary Engineering involvement. You will be technical enough to speak credibly with client IT teams, practical enough to unblock implementation work. This is not a pure Sales Engineering role, Project Management role, or Data Engineering role. It is a client-facing technical architecture role focused on making enterprise implementations smoother, faster, and more consistent.
What will your job entail?
Pre-sales
  • You will support conversations with prospects where technical architecture, integrations, data flows, security, SSO, APIs, or client IT requirements are material to the deal or future implementation.
  • Serve as a technical voice for SpendHQ pre and post implementation lifecycle: explain architecture, integration options, data flows, and connection methods (APIs, SSO, SFTP, MCP) to prospects and their IT teams.
  • Field live technical questions in evaluation meetings and work with internal experts on advanced questions before responding to clients.
  • Support technical discovery calls and produce client-ready (not internal-draft) materials -- decks, FAQs, and explanations that are usable in front of a prospect's IT department as-is.
  • Coordinate with the security/RFP resource on security questionnaire response, providing technical input where needed.
  • Promote SpendHQ best practices and guide prospects toward approaches that align with standard Delivery, Product capabilities and the Product roadmap.

Implementation
  • Work directly with client implementation teams on technical configuration: API setup, SSO, SFTP, and related connection work.
  • Sit between the client and SpendHQ engineering/data teams during implementation, as a technical participant who can resolve straightforward items directly, not solely a router of requests.
  • Identify when a client question genuinely needs engineering time versus when it can be resolved directly, to reduce unnecessary engineering hours in client meetings.
  • Partner with the Data Integration Engineer role on accounts where ETL/pipeline work intersects with client-side configuration questions.

Ongoing
  • Create and maintain reusable playbooks, discovery guides, and FAQs for recurring technical topics (a byproduct of doing the work, not the primary mandate).
  • Use SpendHQ's entreprise AI tool(s) to improve how you work, accelerate research and documentation, and support more consistent technical guidance across teams.
  • Coach Customer Success, Solutions and Delivery colleagues so they can handle more technical conversations with confidence.
  • Feed structured field signals back to Product and Engineering when the same technical question or friction point keeps recurring.

What experience and skills do you need to succeed?
  • You have experience in enterprise B2B SaaS, ideally involving data integrations, procurement systems, ERP data, analytics platforms, or spend management solutions.
  • You have worked in technical solutions, solutions architecture, data architecture, integration architecture, enterprise implementation, or technical delivery.
  • You understand APIs, SSO, SFTP, MCP, integration patterns, and system architecture at a practical level. You can hold a credible live technical conversation with a client’s IT department, not just describe these concepts in writing.
  • You can translate complex technical processes into clear documentation and client-facing explanations.
  • You are comfortable leading client-facing technical conversations with confidence, clarity, and assertiveness.
  • You can make assumptions visible, ask precise questions, and reduce ambiguity.
  • You can say no or redirect a request with a clear business and technical rationale.
  • You can triage technical questions quickly, decide what can be resolved on the spot, and know when to escalate.
Nice to have
  • You have experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, or Fivetran (enough to speak to it credibly, not necessarily to build with it).
  • You have experience explaining security, access control, data handling, or governance topics to enterprise stakeholders.
  • You have light coding, API testing, pull request review, or technical troubleshooting ability.
  • You have experience with AI, LLMs, MCP servers, or automation-enabled delivery workflows.

Why should you join us?
  • To join a successful ProcureTech scale-up company, global leader in Spend Intelligence and Performance Management during a time of growth
  • To be part of a passionate and collaborative team with strong team values
  • To be empowered to be bold, to take initiative and to grow into your role, the development of your knowledge and skills will always be encouraged
  • Autonomy and ownership in a high-growth, global SaaS company
