Job Description

Manages behavioral health daily operations and provides strategic leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and organizational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which support the strategic plan and vision.
  • Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services to ensure clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
  • Oversees performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Provides clinical supervision and mentoring to behavioral health staff, fostering professional development and clinical competency.
  • Develops and implements treatment protocols and clinical standards aligned with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages crisis situations and emergency protocols, ensuring appropriate response and documentation.
  • Analyzes departmental performance metrics, clinical outcomes, and quality indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cultivates and maintains community partnerships and referral relationships to expand service capacity and patient access.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies specific to behavioral health services.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Master's Degree - 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • LPC, CCS Substance use disorder treatment preferred.
  • (High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required. - 3 years of experience required. - 1 year of leadership or management experience required).

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

One or more of the following required:

  • Master Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Counselor specializing in Alcohol and Drug Abuse credentialed from the Michigan Certification Board for Addition Professionals (MCBAP) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association accepted.
