*LOCATION: Grand Cayman - Cayman Islands*

Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Cayman Islands.

Job Summary: The Server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. This role involves a thorough knowledge of the menu, the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, and a friendly and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their table, and present menus. Establish a rapport with guests by making menu recommendations and answering any questions about ingredients, dietary restrictions, or specials.
  • Order Taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring all preferences and special requests are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Deliver food and drinks to the table in a timely manner, ensuring that all items are served as ordered and presented attractively. Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any issues or additional requests.
  • Table Maintenance: Monitor tables for cleanliness and service needs, clearing used dishes, glasses, and cutlery between courses. Refill drinks other items as necessary.
  • Payment Handling: Present the check to guests, process payments accurately, and return change or receipts. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and tips in compliance with the restaurant’s procedures.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including daily specials and beverage options. Be prepared to explain and recommend dishes.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages. Ensure compliance with local laws regarding alcohol service, including checking IDs and refusing service to intoxicated guests.
  • Customer Complaints: Address any guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy, striving to resolve issues promptly. Escalate unresolved issues to management when necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, bussers, and other servers to ensure efficient service and a smooth operation. Assist in preparing tables for large parties and special events.
  • Upselling: Suggest additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Closing Duties: Assist in cleaning and resetting the dining area at the end of shifts, ensuring that the restaurant is ready for the next service period. This may include polishing silverware, folding napkins, and restocking supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred, but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
    • Good math skills for handling transactions and making change.
    • Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail basics, is an advantage.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
