Job Summary 

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer and the Clinic Director, The Clinic Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse with specialized advanced education and clinical competency to provide health and medical care for diverse populations in a variety of primary care, acute and long term care settings.  The Nurse Practitioner utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.   Utilizes the nursing process and organizational/ leadership skills to coordinate services to patients.  Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.  Assesses patients and collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, Site Director and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met by the Neurosurgery Clinic.

Minimum Education: Current Registered Nurse licensure, Masters Degree required, specialized clinical, educational and research preparation in the area of Neurology/Neurosurgery.

Minimum Experience/Skills: 1-2 years experience preferred

License/Certificates/Credentials: Accredited NNP program approved by Board of Registered Nursing for certification as a Nurse Practitioner; maintains ACLS and BLS

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
  • Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Ability to move quickly

Vision Requirements:  Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities

Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) and emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material.
