The Feed Mill Management Trainee position is an entry-level supervisory position through which the Trainee will focus on development of managerial and professional skills at a commercial feed mill facility. Teamwork and customer service skills are vitally important as the Trainee works directly and indirectly with employees, supervisors, and managers.
Responsibilities
  • Supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Trainee will enthusiastically pursue, and be flexible to, learning & experience in multiple areas such as:
    • Organizing feed deliveries, feed blending, and delivery truck loading.
    • Checking feed formulas for correct ingredients.
    • Testing samples and weighing ingredients.
    • Sampling outgoing feed.
    • Ensuring proper inventories.
    • Operating the grain dryer.
    • Maintaining rodent and insect collection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in management or poultry science from a four-year college or university, or four to ten years related experience and/or training is required for this position.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver's license and forklift certificate may be required for this position.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
