ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Crew Member is responsible for assisting with various tasks. This position is designed to provide opportunities to hone customer service skills, team development, and foster professional growth.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans.
- Sort, scrape, rinse, and load dishware efficiently to maintain steady workflow.
- Ensure all items meet sanitation and health code standards before returning to service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room and surrounding kitchen areas.
- Remove trash and recycling, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Restock clean dishware, glassware, and utensils in serving and kitchen stations.
- Monitor dishwashing chemicals and report low supplies or equipment issues to supervisor.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Maintain a fast-paced work environment during peak dining hours.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth dining hall operations.
- Provide courteous and professional behavior in a campus environment.
- Ability to adhere to regular work schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds.
- Willingness to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Strong reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any dishwashing/restaurant experience preferred.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
