POSITION SUMMARY: 

Serves as the day-of, onsite venue manager for corporate and social rental events at Wolf Trap Foundation facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as on-site venue manager for facility rental events, including social, corporate, and Wolf Trap special events.

  • Serve as on-site contact for vendors and as a liaison to the client.

  • Supervise all event activities occurring at the facilities and ensure that event policies and procedures are followed.

  • Appropriately manage facility needs during rental events, including AV, power, maintenance, and minor cleaning and restocking.

  • Effectively maintain outstanding relationships with Wolf Trap’s exclusive catering partners and preferred as well as external vendors.

  • Sustain excellent relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Foundation’s Special Events/Rentals team, the Operations team, and the Culinary/Catering team.

  • Open, close, and secure the venue onsite, checking vendors in and out as directed in the event materials.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Two (2) years progressive experience in catering or event sales and service, or relevant college degree and one year’s work experience

  • Hospitality or customer service experience preferred

  • Previous Wolf Trap hospitality experience desirable

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Outstanding people and customer service skills

  • Poised and professional, able to troubleshoot and elevate issues in a fast-paced environment as needed

  • Must be extremely organized, efficient, and meticulous with detail and follow through

  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedule year-round, including evenings and weekend

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Life/move up to 50 pounds frequently

  • Regularly required to stoop, bend and reach with arms

  • Must be able to remain standing and walk significant distances, occasionally in heat and humidity
