The Business Development Role supports La Bonanza Hospitality's new business development in catering sales efforts by identifying new business opportunities. This position will be responsible for the strategic direction in increasing the catering sales revenue, leading a team of sales event coordinators, collaboration in planning events, direct sales, and follow up. This position reports directly to Catering Director

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic initiative in increasing sales revenue
  • Prepare presentations for the Executive team
  • Maintaining a current list of potential prospects
  • Performing cold outreach via phone and email to potential new clients
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Closing new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts
  • Collaborating with the operations team to seamlessly hand off new contracts for implementation
  • Developing personal expertise and credibility within La Bonanza Hospitality's competitive landscape
  • Promote the company's services through PR and Social Media collaborations
  • Prospect for new customers using various research and outreach methods
  • Keep our CRM up-to-date and manage pipeline metrics
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with your customers and generate repeat business
  • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of customer experience
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, communication with co-workers and clients,

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in catering sales.
  • Proven ability to generate short-term sales and manage a variety of corporate and social event clients, including weddings.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Caterease, Tripleseat, and Ezcater.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to focus on generating two-digit monthly sales within the first 3 months.
  • A flexible schedule and strong organizational skills are essential.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field is a plus and preferred
  • Previous hotel or restaurant (Food & Beverage) sales background required
  • 4+ years of BDM experience
  • Minimum 3 years of hospitality experience, with thorough knowledge of the sales process, terminology, and account management

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to climb stairs and lift to 50 lbs. daily is required.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects.
  • Working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
