Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Retail Clerk performs retail sales, takes inventory and provides customer service at Bonanza Express Store. This is a regular full-time position. Days and hours of work vary by schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required as schedule demands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide cashier services to Bonanza Express customer
  • Maintain merchandise and cleanliness of store.
  • Stock shelves and maintain in-stock with merchandise
  • Haul freight from truck to storage room.
  • Ensure compliance of company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to effectively and professionally assist customers in this type of environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with others.
  • Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Ability to convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Active listening skills; attentiveness when listening to others to understand, ask appropriate questions, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, find ratios/percentages) quickly and correctly and read bar charts and graphs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) preferred.
  • Must be at least 19 years in age to sell tobacco products.
  • Must be dependable and able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. and lift heavy boxes.
  • Must have great customer service
  • 1 year in related experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background screening and credit check.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a retail business environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
