Position Summary
(Full Time) As the Alumnae Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged alumnae community. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to maintain and strengthen relationships with former students, organizing alumnae events, and overseeing fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for connecting people, and a deep appreciation for the values and traditions of Marian. You will serve as a key liaison between the school and its alumnae, ensuring that graduates remain an integral part of the school community and continue to support our mission and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Alumnae Engagement
• Responsible for growing alumnae involvement and deepening alum relationships through stewardship, volunteerism, and philanthropy.
• Recruit, train, engage, and recognize all levels of the Alumnae Association including the Alumnae Leadership Team, Ambassadors, Sounding Board, and Virtual Visionaries.
• Curate alumnae stories and content to be used as featured articles and spotlights on the website, social media, and publications.
• Secure Alumnae for speaking opportunities, school events and special requests
• Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumnae both locally and afar by maintaining regular communication with alumnae via direct contact, email blasts, alumnae web pages, social media, and print publications.
• Serve as a member of the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors and as a representative of the Alumnae Leadership Team.
Fundraising & Events
• Responsible for Alumnae Reunion Weekend including all facets of event planning, budget, and execution as well as collaboration with Brother Rice.
• Collaborate with Faculty/Staff on Marian Field Day by recruiting alumnae judges and facilitating their event involvement.
• Plan and lead alum engagement activities including friendraising events, Memorial Mass, Alumnae Mass, and other events in collaboration with the Alumnae Association Leadership Team.
• Guide the Alum Leadership Team in the planning and execution of an annual signature fundraising event in line with the school's goals, budget, and strategic plan.
• Plan and lead student facing events including the Alum Freshmen Breakfast and Alum Senior Luncheon to educate students and build alum loyalty.
• Serve as a member of the Advancement Team and assist with department wide events and initiatives such as Spring Raffle, Marian Benefit Evening, and Leadership Circle Dinner.
• Design and implement an annual alumnae engagement plan with solicitation goals and objectives in coordination with the Vice President for Advancement for the Marian Fund.
• Support the donor pipeline by routinely identifying and qualifying alumnae for annual giving through Marian GEMs, Leadership Circle, and giving societies. Communicate and track related activities through written contact reports through Raiser's Edge.
• Maintain an ongoing program of stewardship of alumnae, including personal outreach to alumnae donors and prospects regularly. Research, update, and maintain alumnae records to be entered in Raiser's Edge.
• Additional responsibilities include budget management and oversight of the school archives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• Flexibility to work evening or weekend events/meetings throughout the year
• Minimum of 2 years of advancement, event management, or donor/volunteer engagement
• Strong communication skills: clear and compelling writing, reporting, and public speaking
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and exceptional customer service with key stakeholders, such as alumnae, faculty, staff, and students
• Experience managing several multi-faceted projects simultaneously and independently with a track record of exceeding expectations while delivering on-time results
• Strong technical skills are required - proficiency in MS Office suite, video conferencing, social media platforms, and CRM/databases (Raiser's Edge, SalesForce, etc.); and working knowledge of design (Canva) and/or email marketing platforms a plus.
