Youth Basketball CoachJob Summary

Are you passionate about basketball and driven to make a lasting impact on young athletes' lives? Do you believe in using basketball as a vehicle for teaching life lessons and building character? As a Youth Basketball Coach at Team Esface, you'll have the opportunity to directly influence young athletes' development, combining your basketball knowledge with mentorship to create transformative experiences. You'll work alongside dedicated professionals who share your passion for the game and commitment to youth development.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute engaging practices through detailed practice planning and implementation
  • Coach games with a focus on player development and team success
  • Build meaningful relationships with players to support their individual growth
  • Collaborate effectively with assistant coaches to optimize practice and game experiences
  • Maintain open communication with team managers regarding player development and parent feedback
  • Create a positive, encouraging environment that promotes both athletic and personal growth
  • Document and track player progress throughout the season
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Needed
  • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and ability to teach them effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and staff
  • Ability to create age-appropriate practice plans that develop both individual and team skills
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to serve as a positive role model
  • Experience playing or coaching basketball at a competitive level (preferred)
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Work Environment & Expectations
  • Games and practices held at facilities in Redwood City and Menlo Park (within 15 minutes of Highway 101)
  • Professional athletic attire required (#esfacefresh dress code)
  • Active participation in on-court activities required
  • Weekend availability necessary for games and events
  • Commitment to attend 1-2 paid professional development sessions per season

About Team Esface

Team Esface is a youth basketball academy dedicated to transforming young lives through the power of basketball. We offer a range of programs, including club teams, camps, clinics, and private training, all designed to teach basketball fundamentals, instill life leadership qualities, and build community.

Season Information
  • Fall/Winter Season: September - February
  • Spring/Summer Season: March - July
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly rates ranging from $22 - $40 per hour
