What you'll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Application Development in Menlo Park, California to engage in technical discussions including participating in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding. Execute in a fast-paced delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal. Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation. Help in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules. Build software services that are consumed by internal clients. Work with processes / methodologies, build, release & deployment processes. Articulate the need for scalability and improve quality through testing. Write codes that meet standards and deliver the desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field of study.

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Software Engineer, or related occupation in the technology field.

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Core programming languages including C/C++, Java, Perl, and Python;
  • Messaging products including IBMMQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ and KAFKA;
  • GO language;
  • Relational database including Sybase, and Oracle;
  • Designing and Architecting;

Delivering highly scalable distributed systems including trading applications for retail customers.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $214,000 and $214,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
