Job description

About the Role

Enterprise Access is the authentication and authorization backbone of the Okta Identity Cloud. Every login, every policy evaluation, every federation flow runs through this pillar. The products MFA, SSO, Authentication Policies, Authenticators, Federations (SAML/OIDC/OAuth), XAA Protocol, Customer Identity, Identity Verification, Frontline Worker Authentication, and OIE Upgrade paths,  serve billions of monthly authentications across thousands of customers. This PM Director will own the authentication protocols and policies that enable human and non-human identities to authenticate, delegate authority, and interact securely with enterprise resources.

You will run Enterprise Access day-to-day: setting roadmap, driving execution, managing a team of 5-7 PMs, and serving as the primary PM voice for this pillar in quarterly planning, cross-pillar coordination, and customer engagements. Success in this role requires a strong ability to understand customer requirements, a deep empathy for user experience, and the ability to strategically prioritize what's most important while managing requests from multiple teams at Okta.

Okta's Top 5 Core Leadership Competencies are part of the deeply ingrained principles that guide all of our company's actions. They also align strongly to our cultural cornerstones, our Okta values: love our customers, empower our people, never stop innovating, act with integrity, and maintain transparency. • Develops Talent: Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals.
  • Drives Results: Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Strategic Mindset: Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
What You'll DoRoadmap and Strategy
  • Define and drive the Enterprise Access product strategy and roadmap. Translate customer needs, competitive dynamics, and platform capabilities into clear priorities.
  • Own the identity authentication roadmap including backchannel authentication, machine delegation, and protocol unification in partnership with Okta's AI product pillar.
  • Make data-backed prioritization decisions across competing demands: AI identity commitments, named-account customer obligations, revenue-driving upgrade paths, and long-term platform investments.
  • Evangelize your vision to engineering, design, field teams, and customers.
Execution and Delivery
  • Ship products that drive measurable adoption and revenue outcomes. Own quarterly delivery commitments across multiple engineering groups.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and design to build platform-first experiences at scale.
  • Partner with the data team to define product usage metrics and tie them to business outcomes.
  • Prioritize rigorously. This portfolio has more demand than capacity. Saying no clearly is as important as saying yes.
Customer Engagement
  • Engage directly with strategic and Fortune 500 accounts to understand authentication and identity requirements.
  • Partner with field teams to translate customer needs into product priorities. Support critical deals with technical depth and roadmap credibility.
  • Incorporate beta feedback into product direction. Stay close to customers during early access programs.
  • Collaborate with product marketing on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market for new launches.
  • Inform pricing and packaging decisions based on domain expertise and market analysis.
Team Leadership
  • Manage a team of 5-7 product managers across authentication, policies, federations, customer identity, identity verification, and frontline access.
  • Drive a high-performance culture with clear expectations, timely feedback, and genuine investment in career growth.
  • Build a strong bench of leaders. Identify and develop future leaders within the team.
  • Own performance reviews, compensation assessments, and career conversations.
  • Develop a long-term people plan aligned with the product strategy.
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
  • Own and deliver roadmap commitments across authentication, policies, and federation.
  • Be the primary PM voice for Enterprise Access in quarterly planning reviews and leadership forums.
  • Build trusted partnerships with engineering leads across the authentication and access platform teams.
  • Have a clear point of view on the next fiscal year's Enterprise Access strategy and where the portfolio should invest.

  • Track record of shipping products that drove measurable business outcomes (adoption, revenue, retention).
  • Experience prioritizing across competing demands, customer commitments, platform investments, revenue targets,  with incomplete information.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop PMs at multiple levels (PM through Group PM).
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and executive audiences. You write clearly and present with confidence.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership. You build trust with engineering, design, field, and marketing partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM) platforms or security products.
  • Familiarity with AI agent authentication, delegation protocols, or machine identity.
