Job description

Who We Are:
HaloMD specializes in Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) through The No Surprises Act and state regulations for out-of-network healthcare providers, leveraging advanced technology and deep industry expertise to secure optimized reimbursements.

Position Summary:
The Technical Training Manager is responsible for managing and scaling HaloMD's technical training function across the organization's technology ecosystem. This role combines strong technical fluency with training strategy, content development, facilitation skills, and IT acumen/relationships to ensure employees rapidly build proficiency across systems, tools, and environments.

This individual serves as both a technical translator and strategic partner, bridging IT, engineering, and business teams while managing the end-to-end technical training lifecycle – including onboarding, upskilling, documentation, and digital learning. The role ensures employees understand not only how to use tools, but how systems connect and operate to drive efficiency and performance.

Reporting into Learning & Development, the Technical Training Manager leads technical training strategy and execution, partners closely with the LMS administrator (dotted-line) and instructional designers to deliver scalable, data-driven learning solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in software development, IT, or data environments, along with experience managing training programs and influencing technical stakeholders. This role balances strategic direction with hands-on involvement to ensure alignment between evolving technology and workforce capability. If you are a hands-on manager who can strategize, facilitate, develop materials, and build relationships with the IT team, this is the position for you.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Training Strategy & Function Management:
  • Define and manage a technical training strategy aligned with IT, engineering, and business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain standards, frameworks, and best practices for technical training, documentation, and enablement.
  • Serve as the primary L&D point of contact for IT, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and employee skill development.
  • Manage the development of a technical skills roadmap, supporting onboarding, upskilling, and role-based proficiency.
Content & Documentation:
  • Ensure content is accurate, structured, and aligned with system updates.
  • Partner with Instructional Designer to develop engaging and scalable digital learning experiences.
  • Manage Confluence-based documentation, ensuring usability, organization, and governance standards.
  • Establish and maintain content lifecycle and version control practices.
Program Management & Training Operations:
  • Provide direction, prioritization, and coordination for the LMS Administrator (dotted-line relationship).
  • Manage workload, project prioritization, and delivery timelines across technical training initiatives.
  • Contribute to building team capability and bench strength within the technical training function.
  • Partner with the PMO office and align on project priorities, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Manage planning and execution of technical training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and resource coordination.
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess technical training needs and skill gaps.
  • Use data and insights to refine programs and improve outcomes.
  • Support development of structured onboarding pathways and role-based learning journeys.
  • Collaborate with Training Coordinator to monitor:
    • Training participation.
    • Effectiveness and feedback.
    • Adoption and performance impact.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, Education, Instructional Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical training, IT support, technical enablement, or similar role.
  • Foundational experience in software development, data analysis, or technical systems environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of cross-platform systems (Mac and PC), system setup, access, and connectivity.
  • Experience with enterprise tools and collaboration platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience facilitating training for diverse audiences, including technical users.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues in real time.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Confluence, and similar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-directed learner who stays current with technology trends.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Dallas, TX (if not local).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience as a software developer, engineer, or technical analyst.
  • Experience with:
    • Snowflake or similar data platforms.
    • Confluence or other documentation tools.
    • AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data workflows, or system integrations.
  • Background in technical writing, L&D, or enablement.
  • Experience supporting onboarding for technical teams.
  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
  • Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or enterprise environments.
  • Experience creating video tutorials.
  • Strong content development skills with a portfolio.
  • Familiarity with Monday.com or similar tools.

Perks & Benefits:
  • Location: Fully remote, with preference for candidates near Dallas, TX.
