Anderson Equipment Company is one of the largest heavy equipment distribution companies in the Northeast. It is a family-owned, private company that has consistently grown and achieved financial success for almost 90 years. Currently in its third generation of family ownership and management, the company spans six states โ€“ West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine with 19 branch locations.

Job Description Summary:

Apprentices are part of the companyโ€™s special development training program. Employees in this class are expected to successfully complete training assignments during their first two years with the Company.


To reinforce concepts covered during training, the employee is expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Individually complete basic equipment maintenance.
  • Assist other Service Technicians in more complicated repairs.
  • Perform unskilled work such as:
    • Loading and unloading machinery.
    • Completing check in and check out procedures.
    • Fueling equipment.
    • Steam cleaning machines.
  • Organizing equipment and attachments in yard

Initially, the Apprentice will have minimal technical skills but has demonstrated a sincere interest in Anderson Equipment and the construction equipment industry during the recruiting process.

During the apprentice program, the employee must develop proficiency in basic electronics, hydraulics and troubleshooting by successfully completing company provided training classes.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma;
  • Basic familiarity of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems considered a plus;
  • Initially, the Apprentice will have minimal technical skills but has demonstrated a sincere interest in Anderson Equipment and the construction equipment industry during the recruiting process.
  • During the apprentice program, the employee must develop proficiency in basic electronics, hydraulics and troubleshooting by successfully completing company provided training classes.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation depends on location, experience/skills, overtime: $20.75-$27.00 per hour.
