Job description

Maloney Properties – Voted “Best Place to Work” by its employees for 11 years!

Established in 1981, Maloney Properties LLC is a successful real estate firm. Our services include property management, real estate development, hospitality management, sales/marketing, and construction management services.  We manage more than 100 housing communities with more than 11,000 units throughout the New England area.

We attribute our success to the effective working partnerships we have created with both clients and staff.  Maloney Properties has developed a unique culture and work environment that is a significant factor in our success and enables us to attract and retain the best talent and finest professionals in the industry. As a result, we have a high employee retention rate with an average employee tenure of more than 10 years.

We are a company with a human focus and feel passionately and genuinely that our employees are our greatest asset.  We are dedicated to teamwork, staff development and training.  We have created a community within our company; we set clear goals and work together to achieve them. Maloney Properties is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The IT Department

The Information Technology department at Maloney Properties, Inc. delivers a full range of technology services across our management portfolio, enabling site and corporate staff to operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The department is responsible for the technology that supports day-to-day property operations at every site as well as the corporate functions that depend on it.

Your Role

The Director of Information Technology is a senior operational leader accountable for the reliability, security, and continuity of technology across Maloney Properties and its portfolio. Reporting to executive leadership and partnering closely with strategic technology leadership, the Director owns the delivery of IT services and leads the internal team and managed service providers that support them.

This is a pivotal moment for the department. The organization is moving from a model that has been heavily dependent on individual expertise and undocumented, tribal knowledge toward a documented, well-governed, and resilient shared-services function. The Director's central mandate is to lead that maturation: to eliminate single points of failure, formalize processes and documentation, strengthen the security and compliance posture, and re-balance the team toward proactive, strategic support of the business rather than reactive, individually dependent operations.

The Director leads a team of 9 professionals and is expected to help shape the department's structure and staffing as the operating model evolves. Success in this role is measured less by personal technical heroics and more by the Director's ability to build and lead a team, a set of processes, and a documentation base that make the department resilient, transparent, and continuously improving.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operations, Continuity & Resilience
  • Security, Risk & Compliance
  • Vendor, Contract & Financial Management
