Assistant Retail Store Manager

America's Antique Mall is hiring a dependable, customer-focused Assistant Retail Store Manager to join our Algonquin team.

The Assistant Retail Store Manager supports daily operations, employee leadership, shopper and vendor service, store standards, booth rentals, and sales goals. This hands-on role also serves as Manager on Duty when assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional service to shoppers and vendors
  • Support daily operations and serve as Manager on Duty
  • Assist with supervising, coaching, and training employees
  • Open and close the store according to established procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming store
  • Build positive relationships with vendors
  • Assist prospective vendors with booth and showcase rentals
  • Help resolve shopper and vendor concerns
  • Support booth occupancy, shopper engagement, and sales goals
  • Assist with register operations, cash handling, and daily paperwork
  • Lead by example and promote a positive team environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Three years of retail, customer-service, hospitality, or related experience required
  • One year of supervisory, team-lead, key-holder, or management experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
  • Dependable, professional, and able to take initiative
  • Comfortable directing employees and resolving concerns
  • Basic computer and point-of-sale skills
  • Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and certain holidays
  • Ability to remain active for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
