Job description

Mako Waves Distribution is a rapidly growing trucking company looking for motivated and professional Class A CDL drivers for local and regional routes! We are partnered to haul freight exclusively for Amazon, allowing us to provide the benefits of a large business while embodying the culture of a small one. Amazon provides state of the art technology, equipment, logistics software, and support to ensure our drivers are the best equipped and prepared out there on the road. Local trips begin and end at our yard each day, while regional drivers have sleeper cabs and drive to their location, sleep overnight to reset in the cab, and then return to the yard. Wages start at $25per hour($24 for Part Time Drivers). Previous Amazon Freight Partner and Tom Team experience is a plus! Part Time Driver are welcome to apply min of 2 days a week required to work as part time.Applications with resumes and/or previous work historywill be given priority over those applications with noprior work history provided. Current Openings: 2late evening and 1 afternoonstart time day cab driver / several part time openings / No regional openings

Local

Our yardis based in San Bernardino, CA and will begin and end at our yard so drivers will be home after each shift. All local and regionalloads are Drop and Hook (subject to change at anytime)and local full timedrivers work 3 days per week with possibility of a4th day depending on company needs. Local Drivers earn between $52,000 - $65,000 per year depending on the number of shifts worked. Our partnership with Amazon provides steady reliable work and operations are expanded during the peak months of November December to allow drivers more opportunity for a fourth day. Drivers are scheduled to work three (3) 13 hour shifts per week Sunday-Saturday, with opportunities for overtime (overtime is after 40 worked hours)when Mako Waves operates an extra day during the Amazon peak season of November December.

CDL Class A Local Truck Driver Overview:

  • Full time employment consisting of three 13 hour blocks.
  • Local routes average 300-500 miles roundtrip. Based in San Bernardino CA, drivers are home after each shift.
  • Our deliveries are all drop and hook we do not touch freight.
  • NEW CNG Automatic Tractors with the latest equipment and driver assistance technology
  • Opportunities for consistent work based on our Amazon Freight Partnership
  • Weekly pay with Direct Deposit
  • Benefits include: Health insurance, Dental and Vision, 401k with employer matching, PTO, Safety and Performance Bonuses, and Referral Bonuses.

Regional

Our yard is located in San Bernardino forregional drivers. As a regional driver you will work a consistent 4 days on, 4days off schedule, spending one night resetting on the road, resetting at home, then another night resetting on the road, then 4 consecutive days off. Amazon provides us brand new sleeper cabs with all the latest safety and performance technology. Regional drivers earn between $62,000 - $70,000 per year.

CDL Class A Regional Truck Driver Overview:

  • Full time employment, averaging 48 hours per week throughout the year.
  • Regional routes average 1500-1800 miles per 4-day block.
  • Our deliveries are all drop and hook we do not touch freight.
  • New CNG and Diesel Sleeper Cabs with Automatic Tractors with the latest Safety equipment and driver assistance technology.
  • Opportunities for consistent work based on our Amazon Freight Partnership.
  • Weekly pay with direct deposit.
  • Benefits include: Health insurance, Dental and Vision, 401k with employer matching, PTO, Safety and Performance Bonuses, and Referral Bonuses.

CDL Class A Driver, Minimum Requirements:

  • Local Drivers must be at least 22 years old with a minimum of 6 months of verifiable OTR (Over the Road) Class A Tractor Trailerexperience.
  • Regional Drivers must be at least 23 years old with a minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable OTR (Over the Road)Class A Tractor Trailerdriving experience.
  • Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and valid Medical Certificate in good standing.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to communicate with the general public and site personnel andunderstand highway traffic signs and signals in English.
  • Must be able to properly fill out reports.
  • Drivers must understand and be able to manage their ownHours of Service.
  • Understanding of FMCSA H.O.S. regulationsand ELD experience is required.
  • Amazon Branded Tractors have the newest technology installed.
  • No current CDL suspension or revocation.
  • No failed drug tests or SAP in the last 3 years.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a DOT physical, Drug Test and Background Checks from both the FMCSA and Amazon.
  • Ability to effectively learn and operate GPS enabled software and hardware.
  • Must be able to use handheld technology such as iPhoneand smart phone applications that are required for the position.
