Summary
The Breen School of Nursing has an open position which is responsible for assisting with all activities in the Health Resource Center/Nursing Skills Lab (HRC). This is a full-time, 12-month staff position reporting to the Director, Health Resource and Simulation Center. Position is available immediately.
Responsibilities
Lab Activities
Provides skills instruction for undergraduate nursing students; provides supervision for student skills practice; provides instruction for makeup lab and remediation of clinical skills. Coordinates and assists with lab skills testing; includes set up of lab stations and recording equipment. Provide support for simulation activities. Provides assistance for students completing Basic Life Skills (BLS).
Equipment and Supplies
Manages the HRC's equipment and supplies by monitoring the inventory; makes recommendations for purchasing equipment; serves as technical support for the equipment; performs routine maintenance of equipment and manikins in the HRC; maintains cleanliness of all HRC spaces; troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment.
Other Duties
Maintains competency in lab skills through on-going professional development; review of mandatory reporting files every year for compliance. Participates in nursing meetings. Assists with admissions/ marketing events.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required with 2 years of clinical experience. Teaching experience in a BSN program preferred. An unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Ohio is required. Experience in accreditation and regulatory requirements. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work in an inclusive climate; excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
